Agreed. Social commentators using the spoonful-of-sugar vehicle of comedy will get heard, like Bill Hicks. As I heard once, comedians have a license to tell the truth, because they can get away with saying just about anything, unlike talkshow hosts, news reporters etc who are trapped under the shackles of censorship.

it’s amazing how in this country so proud of “freedom of speech” that you really can’t say anything at all. if it offends you can get sued, if it hurtfull you can get hurt back. Mr. Carlin is one of the few people of our time that knows what to say, how to say it, and who to say it too. i kinda wish he’d run for president, if for no other reason then for once we’d get the truth out of the position
