Bombs

From the Faithless song ‘Bombs’.

We think we’re heroes, we think we’re kings
We plan all kinds of fabulous things
Oh look how great we have become

Key in the door, the moment I’ve been longing for
Before my bag hit the floor
My adorable children rush up screaming for a kiss
And a story they’re a gift to this world
My only claim to glory
I surely never knew sweeter days
Blows my mind like munitions
I’m amazed

So much heaven, so much hell
So much love, so much pain
So much more than I thought this world could ever contain
So much war, so much soul
One mans loss, another mans gold
So much more than I thought this world can ever hold

We’re just children, we’re just dust
We are small and we are lost
And we’re nothing, nothing at all

One bomb, the whole block gone
Can’t find me children and dust covers the sun
Everywhere is noise, panic and confusion
But to some another fun day in Babylon
I’m gonna bury my wife and dig up my gun
My life is done so now I got to kill someone

So much heaven, so much hell
So much love, so much pain
So much more than I thought this world could ever contain
So much war, so much soul
Moments lost, moments go
So much more than I thought this world could ever hold.

  1. I listened to the whole cd, and your right, the second track sucks. its not about getting used to anything, its just a bad song. but besides that, the rest of the cd is great, i liked it as a whole better than their last one.

  2. I think the song isn’t about music. Its about you. Me. Personally, I can’t deal with this world. So much love, so much pain. Why?
Why, thats what we can’t deal with. Your child in your arms, Your love in your arms. They can all be killed in an instant by the whim of another.
I wish it was as easy to say money is the problem but nothing is that simple. I can’t abide people who cop out by saying the world is shit, people hurt other people and that’s the way it is. We are a divided species. Killing one another. Killing us, the world.
We are a species who say we live on this earth. We are a species OF this earth. Everything we say, do or kill is of this earth. The next time you eat your corn flakes or turn on your light bulb, your using your ancestors. The one you bury is the one you use to live.
We are at a special time in your evolution. When iformation is free and connected. Those who wish to keep the same order will use this and blind us. Look back to the sixties and seventies. A whole movement of people lost to what we thrive in today. Importance of the self. That is what kills our whole world. I try not to judge things instantly.

  3. Faithless didnt make this album just to make a dance tune of the summer. This is a piece of themselves put into words, but each song has alot more behind it and i dont think weve listened yet.
theres a lot more to hear. This is truely a beautiful album there reason for this i think is because when making it they were just being who they are and expressed it through music.

  4. I agree, same with the older albums, like Sunday 8pm. You could hear the writers pain or joy in every song, and their songs go from the sublime, the painful to the joyous so easily. It’s not the kind of music you can ignore, it demands attention.

  5. Deal with what you can deal with; Find out what you are. Everything else is time-wasting, and we ain’t got much of that.
